3rd Grade - Mrs. R. Williams

About the Teacher

Mrs. Williams

I am very excited about our year together in 3rd grade! I look forward to a fun-filled, productive year full of laughing, learning and growing!

I am a former student and proud alumni of the Thomasville City School System.

After earning a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education in 2004 from the University of West Alabama (UWA), I was hired at the Thomasville Elementary School and have been teaching third grade since that time. To sharpen my skills, I earned a M.S. Degree in Elementary Education in 2006 from UWA as well. I am trained in the areas of AMSTI, ARI, and currently hold Highly Qualified Teacher status as defined by the State of Alabama. Just recently, I was selected as a Master Teacher for the Alabama Bicentennial Commission.

I reside in Thomasville with my husband Jimmy, and we have 4 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, 2 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. We love Thomasville and of course, Alabama Football! Go Tigers and Roll Tide!

Thomasville Elementary School's mission is to promote life-long learning in the 21st century.

About 3rd Grade

The new Alabama standards are very rigorous and demanding. I assure you that I will work hard to provide the best education possible for your child as I prepare them for these changes and the future ahead.

I will spend the first few weeks getting to know each child socially, emotionally, and academically as we learn procedures and expectations. I want your child to succeed, and I will focus on their social and emotional needs before pursuing where each child is academically. I take my responsibility as your child's teacher very seriously. I have high expectations of all my students, and will work hard to help them reach their full potential. This is a new beginning for all of us as we get to know each other and build our relationships.

I appreciate parents who advocate for their child. I will also be an advocate for them this year as well, and have only their best interest at heart. Communication is crucial. I am sure as we work together and listen to each other we can overcome any issue or situation that may arise. I am confident that by working together, we will make this the best school year ever!
I have an open door policy. Parents are encouraged to visit the school any time to check on your child. I am available for conferences at 10:45 any day except Wednesday.
I can't wait for us to share your child's 3rd grade experience together!
Welcome to 3rd Grade!
