 Benefits For Full-Time Employees

2006 - 2007

 

All full-time employees of the Thomasville City School System will receive the following annual benefits.

 

Sick Leave:                1 day per month or equivalent

 

Personal Leave:            (maximum of 4 days)

                           2 days per year (paid by State)

                           Additional Personal Days:

        1 day per year -after completion of five years of service in the System (paid
        by the System)

        1 day per year -after completion of ten years of service in the System
        (Employee pays substitute - substitute pay is automatically docked from
        employee’s pay)                    

        * Unused Personal Leave Days may be converted to Sick Leave at the end of
        the school year.

 

Other Leaves:              Maternity Leave, Professional Leave, Military Leave, Catastrophic Leave,
         Family Medical Leave, Legal Leave and Leave of Absence will be granted to
         employees as circumstances merit.

 

Vacation Leave:            12-Month Employees only

                          1 year of Service, 5 days per year

                          2 to 15 years of Service, 10 days per year

                          After 15 years of Service, 15 days per year

 

Health Insurance:          Employee may chose between two basic health insurance plans:

                                   

                          (1)       PEEHIP (Public Education Employees Health Insurance
                                   Plan) Administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama

                          (2)       An HMO provided by Viva Health Plan

 

                           In addition four supplements are available:

                          Dental

                          Hospital Indemnity

                          Vision

                          Cancer

Life Insurance             $15,000 free life insurance plan from Teacher’s Retirement System of
   Alabama.

 

Retirement:                All eligible employees of the Thomasville City School System will have 5% of
        their gross wages deducted each month and deposited into the Alabama
        Teacher Retirement System:

 

                         Benefits:   (1) Vested after ten years of service.

                                    (2) Retirement at any age after 25 years of service.
