Gifted

Welcome to TES Gifted! I am ready to get started! Lots of exciting things are in store for gifted students at TES this year.

3^rd grade will begin studying perspectives and relationships, and 4^th grade will investigate some mysteries found in unexpected places! Both groups will have fun practicing deductive reasoning, critical thinking, and logic skills.

Each year, we incorporate technology as much as possible – in how I teach them as well as how they discover new things. We will begin this year with a simple but fun program called Photo Story. This little project will be our warm up and will also give us our first product for a digital portfolio – something students will create as the year progresses.

Field trips are also an important part of our gifted program at TCS. Due to budget cuts, we will not longer be able to utilize school buses as transportation. What this will mean is a more comfortable, but far more expensive, ride to and from our destinations. Rest assured that getting more “bang for the buck” is always my goal when planning trips for students. This year there will be one change in our policy for parents’ attendance. If a parent would like to join us on the trip – welcome! – however, numbers will be limited. Filling the bus with students is my first priority. J

For our big Spring trip, I am currently working with Eduquest on a trip to Asheville, North Carolina. Information will come soon!
