We have lots of fun things going on this year - see below!

TES

First semester, 3 ^rd and 4 ^th grades will be studying the concept of Explorations - we will learn about a few famous explorers as well as about different areas to be explored - the world's oceans, our earth's history, even SPACE! This will lead up to our 3 ^rd and 4 ^th grade Gifted trip to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. We will attend Space Camp on December 8 ^th and 9 ^th. Please stay tuned for more information on that. We will also participate in the McWane Science Center's Celebrate Science competition, which will begin in fall and continue into spring.

TMS

Students in grades 5-8 will be examining different cultures and countries this fall. I have many exciting avenues for us to explore, and it will all culminate in our Cultural Fair the second week of December. The " big trip" this year is to Washington, D.C. I am currently finalizing details of this trip, but it will be in May.

THS

Students who choose the Gifted RTI class will explore the college application process as well as tour a few Alabama universities. THS gifted students are also invited to attend the trip to Washington, D.C.
