Prom Dress Code Information

  • The Good South Scholarship - www.thegoodsouth.com/pages/our-cause

  • 4 Scholarships ranging from $250 - $500. Looking for well-rounded students - academics will be looked at but are looking for students who excel outside the classroom as well (community service). 

  • A representative from the University of Alabama Early College will be on campus Tuesday February 25 to meet with students who are interested in their dual enrollment program. There is a signup sheet in the office for any student who is interested and who maintains a 3.0 GPA.

  • Any junior or senior interested in the Rural Health Program at the University of Alabama this summer needs to see Mrs. Brasell for details. Deadline is March 1.
    Currently enrolled as a junior or senior
    Have a 3.0 GPA
    *Have at least a 21 or 1000 on the SAT (plus a writing score on ACT or SAT)
    Reside in rural Alabama
    Have been an Alabama resident for at least 8 years

  • Any student interested in attending the United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar needs to see Mrs. Brasell for information.

  • Students interested in UA Early College for the summer session can pick up information packets in Mrs. Brasell’s office.

  • Any junior interested in attending Samford University for the Alabama Governor’s School this summer needs to see Mrs. Brasell. You can find more information on the leadership opportunity at http://alabamags.org/students/nomination-packet/

  • Rural Minority Health Scholars Program -  For more information on the Rural Minority Health Scholars Program go to:
    *Be a high school senior
    *Have a “B” Average – overall 3.0 GPA
    *Earn a minimum ACT score of 22. UA requires the optional writing part of ACT.
    *Reside in rural Alabama at least 5 years

  • The FAFSA Parent Workshop is scheduled for Thursday February 27 @ 6:00 pm at Alabama Southern Community College.

  • Applications for the 2013 Thomasville Chamber of Commerce Ambassador program are available in the office. This is a
     great way to serve your community. Sophomores and Juniors may apply. Please see Mrs. Brasell for details or call Amy Prescott at 334-636-1542.

  • If you are a junior or senior please remember to register for the selective service at age 18. They may go to www.sss.gov  , it is free, and it is the law.

    Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:
    •Be a high school senior or first-time college freshman beginning in fall 2014
    •Be a U.S. citizen
    •Be an Alabama resident
    •Planning to enroll in an Alabama eligible educational institution in fall 2014
    •Demonstrate financial need
    •Have a minimum GPA of 2.75
    •Have an ACT score of 26 or below
    (applicants attending a two-year school will not be required to submit ACT scores)

THS Tiger Theatre attended the State Trumbauer Competition at Troy University on Dec. 6 and 7, 2013. Their studio theatre performance, “Wings,”  received an overall superior rating. Niki King was selected for the all state all star cast for her performance in “Wings.” Kelli Crosby and Mallory Broadus received superiors for their solo musical individual events. Wynn McGilberry received an excellent rating for classical acting and Raven Newton received an excellent rating for solo contemporary acting. 




TCS Tiger Theatre participated in District V Trumbauer Competition on Saturday, November 2 at St. Luke's in Mobile, AL. "Wings," the studio theatre performance piece, received a superior rating and will advance to State Trumbauer in December at Troy University. Aly Scarbrough, Emma Williams, Amerie Gramelspacher, and Carolyn Beverly received overall excellent ratings for their individual events.  Receiving superior ratings and also advancing to State Trumbauer are Kelli Crosby, Mallory Broadus, Wynn McGilberry, and Raven Newton.
