On April 21,2008, Senator John McCain visited Thomasville High School to make a speech about the Presidential Campaign. One could easily tell he is well admired at Thomasville as he walked into our high school gym with the crowd roaring and the marching band playing. American pride was illustrated by the hundreds of high school and middle school students waving their tiny American flags to show their patriotism. Before giving his speech, he complimented the marching band along with the principal, the superintendent, and the mayor. In addition, he commended us for saying the pledge of allegiance. That day, he also visited Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville that morning, and Selma, Alabama afterwards. All that week, he viewed the beautiful state that we know as Alabama. We will never forget this memorable event in Thomasville. If you would like to view pictures, go to the photo gallery.
