6th Grade Assembly Line

       The 6th Grade Social Studies classes have been studying Ford's Assembly Line. To help students better understand this concept, the class performed the duties of their own line. However, instead of making cars, they made burgers. Since real hamburgers would be a little expensive, students brought in the following items:

• Hamburger Buns (vanilla wafers)

• Beef (oreos)

• Ketchup and Mustard (red and yellow icing)

• Onions (coconut)

     Students each performed a specific task over and over, from the hamburger prep to bagging and boxing the burgers. The first team out of three to complete 10 burgers (neatly) was the winner. The burgers didn't make it long - students felt they needed to "test" the product as part of quality control!!
