By Barry H. Hendrix

The following items were considered Dec. 10 by the Thomasville City Board of Education:

• The school board granted permission to accept bids for replacing the gym floor at Thomasville Elementary School. The new floor will be “flexible wood,” installed in square sections, said Garth Moss, school superintendent, and the estimated cost is $48,000 to $49,000.

The TES PTO will fund half of the project, Moss said, and the other funding will come from technology enhancement funds.

• The board approved Trane Building Advantage of Birmingham to perform an “Investment Grade (Energy) Audit” on the school system facilities.

• Revisions were approved to the school system’s Child Nutrition Program Procurement Plan.
