Change in instruction requests need to be made by March 12

Parents,

State Superintendent, Dr. Eric Mackey has asked all school systems to make another attempt to get students to return to in person instruction.  Please read the following guidelines if you are considering sending your child to school for the last nine-weeks.

Guidelines

  •  All school option change requests should be submitted to Terry Norton, [email protected], 3:00 PM Friday, March 12th.
  • Requests for changes after Friday, March 12th will only be considered in cases with special or extenuating circumstances.

 

Options/Situations Explained

  1. Your child is currently a virtual student.

Option 1 – Your child can remain a virtual student. 

What do you as a parent need to do? – Nothing. If your child was a virtual student and you want them to remain as a virtual student, then the school does not need notification.

Option 2 – Your child can return as a face-to-face student for the 4th 9 weeks.

What do you as a parent need to do? – Submit a request for change as soon as possible to [email protected] 

When approved your student would be allowed to return on Monday, March 15th.

  1. Your child is currently a face-to-face student.

Option 3 – Your child can remain as a face-to-face student.

What do you as a parent need to do? – Nothing. If your child was a face-to-face student and you want them to remain as a face-to-face student, then the school does not need notification.

Option 4 – Your child can switch to a virtual student for the 4th 9 weeks.

What do you as a parent need to do? – Submit a request for change as soon as possible to [email protected] 

When approved your student would be allowed to switch on Monday, March 15th.
