THS students will move to virtual instruction on Jan. 20

Good Afternoon,
I want to thank all of our students, parents, faculty, and staff for all you have done to make this school year as successful as it has been under the current circumstances. Today we have made the difficult decision that all Thomasville High School students who are currently attending school in person will remain at home and take their coursework virtually beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Thomasville High School students will return to campus on Monday, Feb. 1. This decision was based on a spike in the number of students and staff (9 students, 3 staff) who have tested positive for Covid. We also have a large number of students (82) who have been sent home for quarantine due to contact tracing.
While THS students are away from campus the school will be deep cleaned again prior to their return. Principal Kyle Ferguson will update you as needed over the next few days. Please encourage your students to stay up to date on their assignments during this time.
This closure does not include Thomasville Elementary or Thomasville Middle School. These two campuses will continue with their normal schedule. We ask that you continue to be diligent in keeping any students who are showing symptoms at home until they are symptom free.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Garth Moss
