The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity football team will next travel for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday, Aug. 28 at Sweet Water High School.
Cash or GoFan will be accepted at the gate.
With Thomasville’s season opening loss to Leroy, things don’t get any easier as the annual game with the Sweet Water High Bulldogs is set for Friday at Nolan Atkins Stadium. “Coach (Pat) Thompson does a really good job and will have them ready,” said Clint Anderson, THS Head Football Coach. “They are very talented and big upfront. They’ve got big running backs, so we will have our hands full again. It will be a big test for us.
Standouts on Sweet Water include quarterback Daquan Norwood, running backs Deon Blanks, Alravious Gaines and Zyreonne Hamilton, and wingback and linebacker Dareon Mason. Blanks and Gaines are 200-pound backs, Anderson said. “Those guys are talented individuals.
“…You only get better by playing good people,” coach Anderson said. “Leroy and Sweet Water are traditionally really good programs. In the front end of our schedule, it is good for us to get thrown into the fire – especially with the youth that we have starting for us.”
