Cheerleaders celebrate touchdown at Sumter game

The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity football team (2-2) will travel next to Camden for a 7 p.m. game on Friday, Sept. 19 with Class 3A, Region 3 opponent, the Wilcox Central High Jaguars (0-4) at the Jaguars Athletic Complex (1310 Threadgill Rd.).

Cash or GoFan will be accepted at the gate.

“Based on their record, they (Wilcox) are not having the year they would like,” said Clint Anderson, THS Head Football Coach, “but they are always athletic, and the coach (Brandon Cheatham) does a really good job with them.

“We will be going on the road again. The environment always affects how you play. It’s our next region game. We’ve got to come in with the same mindset…that each snap matters and take it a play-at-a time.”

In the Sumter game, “I thought we did a better job with our penalties on Friday,” Anderson said. “We need to win the turnover ratio – all the things that are involved in winning football. …If we come in and execute, and are fundamentally sound, we feel competent in what we are capable of doing.”
