The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity football team (3-2) will host Class 3A, Region 3 opponent, the Thorsby High School Rebels (5-0), at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at D.F. Anderson Field.

Cash or GoFan will be accepted at the gate.

“They (Thorsby) are really a good team,” Clint Anderson, THS head football coach. “They are going to come in here undefeated. They are big up front. They are senior-laden. They have guys who have been playing there for two or three years.”

Notable on the Rebel team are senior quarterback Braylon Carroll, senior center/defensive tackle John Green, junior wide receiver Lucas Jackson and senior wide receiver Micah Miller.

Several seniors on the Thorsby team started as juniors last season, Anderson said. “They do a really good job with what they do. They block well. …Defensively, they have a scheme that we don’t see a lot. We will have to rep and get our guys exposed as much as we can playing (against that scheme).

“They are well coached (by Daryl Davis, 2017-2025). It will be a challenge for us.”

The game last season at Thorsby was back-and-forth, and the Tigers were fortunate to come away with the victory. “The score did not represent how good they were,” Anderson said. “They are better this year than they were last year. We are younger than we were last year, but we are improving every week.”
