The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity football team (3-3) will next travel Friday, Oct. 10 to play Class 3A, Region 3 opponent, the Hale County High School Wildcats (3-3), in Moundville. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Cash or GoFan will be accepted at the gate.
“We are preparing for Hale County, another very talented team,” said Clint Anderson, THS Head Football Coach. The Wildcats are led by head coach Ryan Locke in his fourth year. “They are super athletic. They are as skilled a team as we have played. Athletically, they are similar to Southside Selma.
“They run a different style offense than your typical spread. There is a lot more option flavor in it. They get their athletes in space – on the perimeter. They do a real good job with that.
“Defensively, they run to the ball,” Anderson said. “We are going to have to hold our blocks. They will get off blocks and pursue. It will be a tough task on both sides of the ball.
One of Hale County’s top players is freshman quarterback Marcus Bryant Jr., who is effective passing and running. Also notable is senior receiver Kaivien Ryans, and senior defensive backs Tristan Perry and Brandon Lockwood Jr.
