The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity baseball team's opponent for the first round of the state playoffs has been announced.
THS will play the Straughn High School Tigers of Andalusia at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at Donnie Fendley Field.
There will be a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, April 20 if necessary.

The THS varsity softball team beat area opponent Excel 5-1 April 11 at Jan Overstreet Field. Thomasville will host the area tournament.
The Thomasville High School Prom 2024 will be geld at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12 in the school gym. Line up for the Lead Out will begin at 6:30 p.m. Guests will be allowed in the gym at 6:30 p.m.
The Bill Miller photographer will be at the gym at 5:30 p.m. for couple and individual photos. Students must pay $20 that evening for the couple photo package.
ATTENTION: the THS JV baseball doubleheader today, April 11, has been cancelled due to field conditions.
The THS Tigers golf team will travel today, April 11, to play Demopolis at the Demopolis County Club (1620 Country Club Dr.). Tee time is 2:30 p.m.
Also, the team will host Demopolis on Monday, April 15 at the Thomasville Golf and Recreation Club.
