The following items were approved July 7 by the Thomasville City Board of Education:
• The following Personnel Actions were approved:

Traci Hosea, ARI Specialist;
Cynthia Hare, Clerical Aide at Thomasville High School;
Karli Baugh, Teacher at Thomasville Elementary School;
(Employment in Position)
Mary Evelyn Norton, Speech Language Pathologist;
Melvin Calhoun, Bus Driver;
De’Auvion Jackson, Pre-K Auxiliary Teacher at TES;
Lyle Meador, History Teacher at Thomasville Middle School;
Brandi Horton, Teacher at TES.
• The financial report for June 2026 was approved. Payroll totaled $974,346.38, and accounts payable totaled $574,928.39.
• Yearly membership in the Alabama Association of School Boards was approved ($4,272.61).
• Passes were approved for specific groups/organizations to attend school events during the 2026-2027 school year.
• An Emergency Repair Declaration was approved for electrical work to be performed throughout the school district before the 26-27 school year begins.
• The next meeting of the school board will be Aug. 25 in the THS Library. There will be a 4 p.m. work session, and 5 p.m. regular meeting, which will include the first Fiscal 2027 budget hearing.
