Friday, Aug. 27 Update

Thomasville City Schools Stakeholders:

We will continue to monitor our Covid numbers in the system next week, and we anticipate that all of our students should be able to return to school on Sept. 7.
Please keep in mind that if any member of your household tests positive for Covid you should not send your children to school. Contact the school nurse to let them know as soon as possible and they will excuse your child's absence with a Covid exposed code for 10 days. We need everyone to cooperate and to be honest with us regarding Covid. We do not want to needlessly expose other students and staff to Covid. Everyone needs to do their part!

It is our desire to continue to keep all of our students in school every day. Our district is working on a hybrid plan of action for our schools in case we have to shut a school down again. We will put more information out on this over the next two weeks. This hybrid option would only be utilized as a short term solution when warranted by Covid numbers in the system.

We will continue to monitor hurricane Ida over the weekend to see what impact it may have on our schools. We will let you know as soon as possible if it is going to affect school next week.

Covid numbers for the week of Aug. 23-27:

TES (not in school)
Positives: 8 students, 1 staff

TMS
Positives: 7 students
Quarantine: 23 students, 1 staff

THS
Positives: 6 students, 1 staff
Quarantine: 10 students

Stay safe and have a great weekend.
