Thomasville City Board of Education 5-25-2022

A special called meeting was held May 25 in the Thomasville High School Library.

Two new principals were approved by the Thomasville City Board of Education.
Chelsea Doggett was chosen as the new principal of Thomasville Elementary School, effective July 1, and Eddie Armstead was chosen as the new principal of Thomasville Middle School, also effective July 1.
Doggett has recently served as Reading Coach at TES. Armstead recently served as principal of Choctaw County High School in Butler.
In addition, Anjelica Gibson was chosen as the new Chief School Financial Officer for the Thomasville City Schools District, effective July 1. She recently served as Accounting Specialist at Choctaw County Board of Education.
The new principals and the new CSFO are expected to attend the June 14 board meeting.
The remainder of the personnel actions approved will be released at a later date.
All five members of the school board were present for the May 25 meeting: Taylor Williams, Jim Davis, Rita Nichols, Sharon Buford and Marshall Pritchett. Vickie Morris is serving as interim school superintendent, until she takes over the position on July 1.
It was likely the last meeting for board member Buford. “I want to commend Sharon Buford on doing a great job as a board member,” said Pritchett, the school board president. “…We want to thank her for 14 years of service. …She had gone beyond the call of duty. She has done great things for the schools.”
Tiffany Rodgers-Shamburger, was approved May 23 by the Thomasville City Council to replace Buford on the board and will begin serving at the June 14 meeting.
