Tiffany Rodgers-Shamburger

“Our school system is a vital part of our community,” said Tiffany Rodgers-Shamburger, a member of the Thomasville City Board of Education. “I am a firm believer in the old saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ My hopes are to see more parental involvement in all three schools and for us to pull together to do what is best for our youth.”

A native of Thomasville and a 2001 graduate of Thomasville High School, she is the newest member of the school board. Shamburger was approved May 23, 2022, by the Thomasville City Council and began serving with the June 14 meeting.

“My decision to accept being appointed as a board member was greatly encouraged by my desire to see our kids excel,” Shamburger said. As a product of the Thomasville school system, “there were many teachers during my years that could be listed as favorites. Every grade housed a teacher that made a meaningful impact on my life - administrators as well.”

Shamburger and her husband Jerry have been married for 13 years. They have two children, KaJerrius “KJ” Shamburger, who is a senior at Thomasville High School, and KeYandria “Yandi” Shamburger, who is a sophomore, also at Thomasville High School. Both children are very active in football, basketball, baseball and cheer; as well as honor students.

When she has free time, “I enjoy spending time with family and friends; listening to music; and reading.”
